
The recent cultural exchange event at Oikos Helping Hand and Southville International School on April 1st has sparked hope for a more united Southeast Asia, based on mutual understanding and cooperation among rising leaders in youth empowerment.
The event was a collaborative initiative with Nanyang Polytechnic of Singapore, bringing together students from Singapore and the Philippines, as well as Filipino youth leaders, for an engaging session with H.E. Ambassador Constance See, the Singaporean Ambassador to Manila.
A Dynamic Exchange of Cultures and Ideas
The event acted as a dynamic platform for cultural exchange. Attendees delved into the rich culture of Singapore and the Philippines through engaging discussions, discovering surprising similarities and differences. Representatives from the ASEAN Youth Organization Philippines were also present at the event, which focused on youth empowerment. Before this event, it also showcased a unique presentation of artworks by Filipino artists at Southville International School. These tokens of appreciation, were presented to the speakers, including Undersecretary Gary Domingo, former Philippine Ambassador to New Zealand, renowned artist Emmanuel Garibay, and H.E. Ambassador Constance See of the Singapore Embassy to Manila. It was not just a gesture of thanks but also a bridge connecting cultures via the universal language of art.
